Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State Government has approved the provision of 20,000 tables and chairs to schools across the State to make teaching and learning more conducive for learners.
The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, revealed this during a 3-Day Capacity Building Training for Staffers of Ogun State Technical and Vocational Education Board (OGSTVEB) as well as Principals and Management of the 8 Technical Colleges across the State on Sustainability and Knowledge Transfer at OPIC Tower in Abeokuta.
Prof. Arigbabu who was declaring the training open, hinted that the project was fully awarded to local artisans in the State, saying the first phase of the project had begun with 10,000 Tables and Chairs.
The Commissioner charged participants to take advantage of the adequate resources provided in the colleges by the present administration to ensure quality and professionalism in their service delivery.
He assured that the government would supply more equipment as soon as the ongoing construction of buildings was completed.
‘’Now that we have remodeled our Technical Colleges, let us also show it in terms of our out-put, training and Staffers assiduous attitude to work, ‘’ he said.
Speaking earlier, Acting Executive Secretary, OGSTVEB, Mr. Olubori Akinleye said the Training was organised by Ogun State Economic Transformation Project (OGSTEP) in collaboration with the Education Ministry for Technical Colleges Principals and School managers to update them on the ongoing reforms in the sector and improve on their skills for sustainability of the present administration's laudable innovations.
