Governor Dapo Abiodun has stressed the importance of partnership between the government and traditional institution in curbing the illegal activities of land grabbers and encouraging investors that will ensure economic growth and development of Ogun State.
Governor Abiodun was speaking during the recent Installation and Presentation of the Staff of Office to the new Onilisa of Lisa, Oba Oladele Odugbemi, in Ifo Local Government.
Abiodun who was represented by the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, said the presentation of the staff of office to the Monarch symbolises not only authority and responsibility, but also unity, progress, and cultural pride that bind the people together.
He added that proper positioning of traditional rulers would enable to effectively fight against such activities activities of land grabbers and encourage genuine investors to invest and enhance the economies of their respective communities in the state
"We realise the fact that traditional institutions and their leadership must be properly positioned, as it serves as a bridge between the people at the grassroots and the government," he said.
Speaking, the Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Hon. Olamilekan Kusimo, congratulated the Monarch for his resilience and dedication to the growth of the community.
He noted that meaningful development can only take place in an atmosphere devoid of rancor and trouble, praying that the Monarch's reign would be marked by wisdom, strength, and abundant blessings.
Oba Odugbemi, in his acceptance address, expressed gratitude to the Governor for deeming him fit for the exalted position, pledging his unwavering commitment to the upliftment and development of Lisa and its inhabitants.
