Ogun State Chairman of NLC
has adopted the Amalgamated Union of Motor Mechanics and Technicians of Nigeria (AUOMATON) as one of its affiliates in the country
The State Chairman of NLC, Comrade Hameed Benco-Ademola during NLC official adoption of AUTOMATON held on Thursday at the State of secretariat of the union in Abeokuta, the state capital, cautioned the new executive members against using Union's positions for personal advantage
He charged members of the new affiliate to make themselves a strong force within NLC, by joining hands together for unity of the association in all its activities
He added that their coming together to form a Union is a sign that they are ready to fight for better wages, improved working conditions, access to financial support and continued professional development.
Benco-Ademola stressed that the union's platform must be used for empowerment, progress and collective prosperity of members
"Let me remind you that a single broomstick is easy to break, but a bundle of broomsticks bound together is unbreakable. That is the power of unionism. A Union is not just a group of people; it is a force.--- a collective strength that ensures no member is left behind, that everyone's voice matters, and that every right is defended" , he stated
"Your decision to organise under the banner of AUOMMATON is a step in the direction. It shows that you understand the value of coming together to fight for better wages, Improved working conditions, access to financial support, and continuous professional development. The challenges you face cannot be tackled individually but with a united front, you can demand your rights, negotiate better policies, and secure a brighter future for all members". he advised
Also speaking, AUOMMATON National Vice President Comrade S.O Odewale, popularly known as (Asiwaju), appreciated the consideration of NLC adoption, noting that it is an omen of blessing for the union.
He assured that the union will always abide by the rules and regulations of NLC while stating that they are ready to be a financial member of NLC.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected chairman of the AUOMMATON Ogun State, Comrade Femi Bilewumi vowed to steer the affairs of the union positively.
He assured members that his administration would do the needful to ensure the growth of the union and NLC as their mother body.
