Pensioners on the payroll of Ogun State Government have lauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for payment of N20,000 end of year 2024 bonus extended to them
The State Council of Nigeria Union Of Pensioners, led by Comrade (Chief) Waheed Oloyede had earlier appealed to the governor for the extension of the bonus given to workers to them which was later granted
The State Council of the union in a letter of appreciation to the governor jointly signed by its Chairman, Comrade (Chief) Waheed Oloyede and Secretary, Comrade (Dr.) Bola Lawal , JP, was full of praises, describing the gesture as first of its kind in the history of the State
"You are indeed wonderful. You are Godly and also a humanist. Your love towards us, the Elderly is unquantifiable and of sincere goodwill"
"The Executive and the entire body of Ogun State Pensioners, immensely appreciate your sincerity of purpose, your love, friendliness and Godliness towards us the Elderly at all times"
"We therefore express our joyfulness towards you thus", the union applauded
The Pensioners expressed confidence that the consequential adjustment of the new minimum wage would be done for the monthly pension in no distant future by the Prince Dapo Abiodun's administration in the state
"Finally, Your Excellency, we are now hopefully assured by your love to us, that the actualization of our much awaited *Consequencial Adjustment of Pensions* would in this new year 2025 be approved by you in no distant time to encourage the long standing aged retirees to at the long last *"breathe an air of relief"* before the final Bell comes tolling", the union stated in the letter
