Ogun Assembly's Speaker Calls For Investment In Technical, Vocational Education...Says It Is Crucial To National Development

Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Oludaisi Elemide, has stressed the need for more investment in technical and vocational training in the State, in order to produce  the needed manpower for technological and infrastructural development of Nigeria 

Elemide made the call while playing host to the delegation from the Ahmaddiyyah Muslim Jama'at of Nigeria on the inauguration of Masroor International Technical College ( MITC) sponsored by the international Ahmadi Architect and Engineers Association ( IAAAE) at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan in Abeokuta, the State capital 

The Speaker lamented the dearth of skilled manpower in technical and vocational areas in the country, stressing that the Assembly had continued to partner with the executive arm in the State to resuscitate technical and vocational education to assist the built environment and the State in employment generation, development of infrastructure and human capital export.

Also speaking, the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Bolanle Lateefat Ajayi lauded the religious organisation for its quality contributions to the technical and vocational education of the State, saying that at least five members of her constituency would be sponsored through various technical and vocational trainings in the institution.

Earlier in their remarks, the Chairman of IAAAE, Europe, Headquarters in the UK, Sir Akram Ahmed and Nigeria Chairman of the association, Alhaji ( Arch.) Mufadhil Bankole, stated that the school would run various technical and vocational trainings in electrical installation, refrigeration and air conditioning, plumbing and pipe fitting, ICT- Computer hardware maintenance and repair, soft ware( full stack) and building ( bricklaying, concrete, masonry and tiling) amongst others immediately after its inauguration on Thursday, 7th November, 2024.
