An Aide to former Works Minister, Sen. Adeseye Ogunleye , Prince (Hon.) Olayinka Olatunji Sogaolu has expressed concern over the economic situation in Nigeria, calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to urgently tackle the issue of food inflation, by injecting more fund to support local farmers and mechanized farming in agricultural sector, so as to reduce the cost of foods in the country
Sogaoolu who also served with immediate governor of Ogun State, Sen.Ibikunle Amosun in an interview with Edu-Biznews at his Abeokuta county home on Monday, also asked Tinubu to demonstrate enough courage to end insurgency and banditry in the Northern region and other forms of security threats, in order to create conducive environment for investors to invest in agric and other critical sectors to stimulate the economy
He also stressed the need to improve on
the health sector by upgrading medical equipments at the public health facilities across the country and subsidized drugs for Nigerians to make drugs affordable, as part of strategic to reduce hardship and make people enjoy healthier lifestyle
Sogaolu who contested for the seat of Abeokuta North,Obafemi -Owode, Odeda Federal Constituency in 2007 on the platform of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party ANPP, emphasized the need to fix the three identified sectors , to enable President Tinubu and All Progressive Congress APC win the hearts of Nigerians in the 2027 general election
He blamed the economic situation on the insincerity of political office holders who are only interested in themselves and not serving the interest of masses
Sogaolu stressed the need for political office holders to begin to provide selfless and purposeful leadership at all levels of governance, by looking inward and fix right people into various positions , to make government work for the people
"The right people must be empowered, our farmers must be supported to boost food production, our youths must be empowered and engaged in various vocational trades to generate jobs and create wealth for themselves"
Sogaolu showered praises on Sen. Solomon Olamilekan Adeola popularly known as Yayi for providing selfless and purposeful leadership, representing people of Ogun West Senatorial District at the Senate
He described Sen Adeola as a good example of selfless service worthy of emulation by other Senators, Shuaib Afolabi Salisu and former governor, Gbenga Daniel representing Ogun Central and Ogun East
Sen. Adeola according to Sogaolu , is passionate about empowering people through various empowerment initiatives and development of Yewa and Awori axis through facilitation of numerous federal projects to Ogun West
He blasted the immediate former governor and two terms , Senator Ibikunle Amosun for not doing enough for Ogun Central during his time at the Senate unlike Yayi who is touching lives of the people in Ogun West
He described Amosun as ingrate and selfish politician who is only interested in himself and not serving interest of the people
Sogaolu recalled how the former governor failed to appreciate efforts of others who supported to actualize his political ambition
He however reminded the electorates to always consider the anticidents of those they are voting for and vote for the right people who will serve their interests in government
