Remo Stars Return To Summit Of NPFL After 3-0 Demolition Of Nasarawa Utd In Ikenne -Remo





Remo Stars Football Club of Ikenne- Remo  returned to the summit of Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL on Sunday with 15 points, after 3-0 demolition of visiting Nasarawa United of Lafia 

All the goals came in the second half of a week six match played at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne -Remo in Ogun State through Sikiru Alimi in the 51st minute and Joseph in the 59th minute before Ismail put the game beyond the Nasarawa side who are occupying the 13th position with six points 

Finidi George tutored Rivers United of Port Harcourt dropped to the second spot with 14 points, after they held home side, Katsina United to a goal less draw, securing vital point and leaving them in the eight position with eight points 

Similarly Enyimba International of Aba retained their third spot on the table with 13 points, after forcing Shooting Stars to another barren draw in Ibadan, picking valuable point while the Gbenga Ogunbote tutored side still struggling with six points in the 12th position 

Both Sunshine Stars of Akure and Enugu Rangers are in the fourth and fifth positions respectively with 10 points each, after Enugu Rangers suffered its second defeat in the season in the week six match played earlier on Saturday 

Niger Tornadoes of Minna are in the sixth position with nine points, after being held to a one -all draw by the Daniel Amokachi tutored Lobi Stars of Markurdi who are battling relegation in the 19th position with just five points 

Plateau United of Jos are in the seventh position on the table with eight points after losing by a lone-goal to home side , Bayelsa United of Yenegoa in the 15th position with six points 

Ninth placed Abia Warriors with eight points also defeated visiting Kwara United of Ilorin in the 17th position with just four points while El-kenemi Warriors of Maiduguri who are currently on the 10th spot with seven points after settling for a barren draw with visiting Heartland of Owerri who are still struggling within the relegation zone in the 18 position with five points 

Kano Pillars dropped to the 11th spot with seven points, after their 0-2 loss to the home side, Akwa United of Uyo who are in the 16th position with five points, after securing their first win in the season 

Following the conclusion of matches in the week, debutants, Ikorodu City of Lagos have returned to the bottom of the table with four points, despite securing their  first win 3-0 against Bendel Insurance of Benin-city who are now in the 14th position with six points, after the Saturday's humiliation in Lagos
