Ogun SUBEB Boss Charges Teachers, Parents To Be Alive To Responsibilities As Schools Resume For New Session

Teachers and parents of pupils in public primary schools in Ogun State have been advised to be alive to their responsibilities, as the new 2024/2025 academic session began on Tuesday 

Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Femi Majekodunmi, gave the advice during a monitoring exercise to Wesley Nursery and Primary School, Ikenne, in Ikenne Local Government Area of the state

He said that it was imperative for parents to monitor the health of their wards before taking them to school, while teachers should always check their books to aid academic excellence.

Dr. Majekodunmi explained that the monitoring exercise was not meant to witch-hunt the teachers and learners, but to assess the level of preparedness at resumption, ensuring conducive learning and teaching environment as well as prioritizing  their welfare.

He advised parents and teachers to always prioritise the learners' performances, as they are future leaders, adding that Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration was committed to further improve the education sector.

Speaking on behalf of others, the Headteacher, St. Paul's Nursery and Primary School 2, Ijoku, Sagamu, Mrs. Rodah Ajanaku, expressed readiness to commence the academic session and pledged to perform their duties as expected.

Some of the schools visited include, Smart Model School, Ikenne; St. Saviours Anglican Primary School I and II, Ikenne; St. Paul's Nursery and Primary School I, Ijoku, Sagamu, as well as African Church Primary School, Ijoku, Sagamu.
