A People's Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship Candidate, Hon.Olalekan Samuel Beyioku has promised to focus on development of more infrastructure in education to make public primary schools more attractive for parents, just as serious attention will be given to funding of primary health facilities to provide functional medical services to the people, if elected in Obafemi -Owode Local Government Area at the coming November 16, 2024 councils poll in Ogun State
Beyioku who has been a committed member of PDP for over 16 years, made. the promise over the weekend at his ward eleven in Ajebo area of the local government area , stressing the need to address the issue of infrastructural deficit, particularly in the education and health sectors, so as to make the people enjoy more dividends of democracy
He added that priority would be given to agriculture sector through provision of the needed farm inputs to local farmers to boost food production and construction of access roads to make foods available to people at cheaper prices, considering the agrarian nature of the local government area
The PDP Chairmanship Candidate emphasized the need for creation of jobs for the youths who constitute more than 70 percent of population of Obafemi -Owode LGA, saying his administration will initiate empowerment programme to establish skills acquisition centres across the council's twelve wards where youths will be trained in various vocational trades and given financial assistance on completion of their training to set up their respective businesses
The aged according to him, will be given serious attention through payment of stipends to make living meaningful for them
Similarly, the State PDP Deputy Chairman, Ogunremi Abiodun, Chairman of the party in the local government area, Ogunsola Korede alongside his Vice-Chairman, Bamidele Ibigbami ,a.k.a Toaster and the Ajebo ward Chairman, Kilani Muraino in their separate remarks at the event, described Beyioku as a man who has what it takes to transform the economic landscape of Obafemi -Owode Local Government Area and bring more development to every sectors in the area, if elected by the people as the next Executive Chairman at the coming local council poll to be conducted by the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC)
They urged the electoral agency to ensure conduct of free and fair councils election in November 16
