Ogun State Government has called for collaboration of members of the Ogun Indigenes Forum in Ghana under Public Private Partnership arrangement, to further boost investment in the rich tourism sector of the State
The State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Sesan Fagbayi who made call while hosting representatives of the Forum, who paid him a familiarisation visit recently at Oke-Mosan in Abeokuta, also commended members of the forum for
their contributions in giving back to the society towards promoting grassroots development.
He said members' support in terms of provision of social amenities to communities would enhance the living standard of the people, which he said was in tandem with the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration’s social welfare to the citizens of the state
He added that complimenting government developmental projects, particularly in the area of infrastructure would make the state more attractive for tourists to visit various tourist attractions, thus enhancing tourism sector
"As government, we appreciate your contributions to the development of the communities, through the construction and donation of a borehole to Bolode-Oku, Ago-Oko community, Abeokuta South Local Government Area of the state. This is what government needs and expects associations to do. We need partnerships such as this to help increase the internally generated revenue of the state. I urge you to continue to be good ambassadors of the state", he said.
The Commissioner added that government was passionate about Public Private Partnership and grassroots development, noting that the Ministry was open to collaboration with groups and associations both at home and abroad.
Earlier, National President of the Forum, Mr. Bola Akinsanya, said the association believes in the development and growth of the society, especially the grassroots, adding that it was established to consolidate the efforts of government in Ogun.
Also speaking, a member of the Council of Elders of the Forum, Alhaji Fatai El-Aziz, said the visit would enable members to synergise and familiarise themselves with the ‘Building Our Future Together’ agenda of the present government, pledging their continued support for execution of developmental projects to communities.
