Ogun State Government has called for cooperation between learners and teachers to sustain quality qualitative education as all public and private primary and secondary schools, as well as Government Technical Colleges in the State resumed fully for the new academic session, after a six-week vacation to conclude the end of the 2023/2024 academic session.
The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu made the call while monitoring the 2024/2025 resumption activities in Ijebu-Ode, Odogbolu, Ikenne, Sagamu and Abeokuta South Local Government Areas of the state,
The Commissioner accompanied by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Oluwatosin Oloko and the Director of Quality Assurance and Teachers Development, Mr. Gbenga Kikisuhu, said excellent performance occurs where learners cooperate with their teachers on policies that would promote quality standard of education.
Prof. Arigbabu commended the Principals and teachers for being proactive towards resumption activities and for conducting Welcome Tests for the learners, adding that infrastructure have been provided for learners to enjoy the best of learning process for the new academic calendar.
He charged the learners to be hardworking, committed to their studies, pursue high education potentials and keep the ideals of their schools, enjoined learners to take up new challenges, be proactive and lay a solid foundation for a successful session.
"You can be whatever you want to be in life, if you make commitment and determination your watchwords. As students in Ogun State, we want you to be obedient and good examples, always cooperate with your teachers for you to have a better performance", he appealed
Principals of Ansar-ud-deen High School, (Senior), Ijebu-Ode, Mr. Olaleke Moseje; Ikenne Community High School, Junior and Senior, Ikenne, Mr. Adefala Aina and Mrs. Helen Ilori, respectfully, as well as the Principal, Sagamu High School, Joseph Osiba, in their separate remarks, lauded the Ministry for the Pre-resumption orientation, assuring that they were fully ready for the academic session.
Speaking on behalf of other teachers, Mrs. Victoria Odufuwa of Ijebu-Ode Grammar School and Samsudeen Alebiosu of Ansar-ud-deen High School, pointed out that their duty was to create value into learners and raise a future generation of esteem values, promising to do their best in upholding government legacy.
Other schools visited include, Ososa Comprehensive High School, Ososa; Smart School, Ikenne; Makun High School, Sagamu; St. John’s Anglican High School, Abeokuta and Nawar-ud-Deen High School, Abeokuta.
