Ogun ASVAN Seeks Govt's Support For Loan, Recognition On Projects Execution

Members of Association of Skilled and Vocational Artisans of Nigeria(ASVAN) in Ogun State including Hair stylists, Barbing salon operators, Tailors, Caterers, Cobblers, GSM Phones repairers , Auto Spraying Painters, Motor Mechanics, Vulganizers, Battery charger, Refrigerators ,Photographers, Licenced  Electrical Contractors Association of Nigeria ( LECAN ), Radionics ,Auto Rewire , Printing Press operators and other small scale business owners are calling on both Federal and State Governments to assist them with provision of soft loan at a single digit interest rate, so as to help overcome the current economic hardship in the country 

Ogun State Chairman of ASVAN, Comrade Mukaila Sodamola who made the call in an interview with Edu-Biznews in Abeokuta on Friday , also appealed to government at all levels to always give recognition to local artisans such as Bricklayers , Carpenters, Plumbers ,Block moulders, Tillers, Aluminum fabricators and Plank sellers amongst others particularly in the construction of roads and execution of other infrastructural projects 

He added that such support would enable members of the association to grow their respective businesses and contribute greatly to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the economy in the country and reduce the disturbing rate of inflation

ASVAN according to him, is a registered association under the law with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and Ogun State Ministry of Community Development And Cooperative

The association presented letters of its previous courtesy visits to offices of the Secretary to Ogun State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, the State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology Prof Abayomi Arigbabu and that of Community Development And Cooperative between the months of February and March, 2024, as part of steps taken to seek recognition and much needed support for its members by the state government

Comrade Sodamola maintained that ASVAN as a registered association has 25 affiliates of various vocational trades
