Management of the Lagos State University (LASU) Ojo has raised an alarm over activities of admission and scholarship racketeers, disassociating itself from some individuals/organisations operating under the name "National Image Scholarship Scheme"
The university in a statement on Saturday explained the mode of operations of the scholarship scheme to deceive unsuspecting individuals saying the scholarship scheme often claim to be offering tuition-free scholarships to some affiliated institutions including Lagos State University, Ifo Campus as one of the listed affiliates
According to a letter of admission and processing form ostensibly issued to one of their clients, prospective students can assess their juicy offer on the payment of a stated sum of money.
'We hereby disassociate Lagos State University from such schemes and categorically state that:
"LASU has no affiliation with any individual, group, or organisation by the name National Image, neither does the university offer admission to candidates through them", the management stated
LASU's only existing affiliation with Ifo is with the Royal College of Education, Ifo, for the Sandwich Degree Programme
All LASU admissions are conducted exclusively* through official channels as prescribed by the Joint Admissions & Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the university's internal admission process", it clarified
LASU warned members of the public that it would not be responsible for any loss by any individual who falls victim to what it described as dubious scholarship scheme
"LASU will not be held responsible for any loss incurred by any individual who falls victim to such dubious schemes"
"Prospective students and the general public are strongly advised to verify all admission- related information through LASU's official website: *www.lasu.edu.ng* or any of its official social media platform for authenticity" the statement concluded
