Federal Executive Council has approved a contract for the construction of a new Senate building for University of Ibadan
The Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman who announced this to newsmen after the Council's meeting presided by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja, also said the council approved the cost associated with the conduct of examinations by the National Examinations Council

“The University Ibadan, which was established in 1948, is having its first Senate building, which is meant to accommodate tens of offices and principal management of the university", he stated
