Enyimba, Remo Stars , Tornadoes Humiliate Home Teams As NPFL Hostilities Hot-up




Enyimba International of Aba, Remo Stars of Ikenne Remo and Niger Tornadoes of Minna humiliated home teams, as hostilities among football clubs in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NFL) began on Sunday for the 2024/2025 season 

At the Dan Ayiam Stadium in Owerri, the Imo State capital, the Naze millionaire, Heartland fell 1-3 to superior power play by visiting Enyimba of Aba just as Remo Stars humbled home side , Abia Warriors of Umahiah 2-0 for the maximum three points 

Similarly in Ilorin, Kwara United lost at home 1-2 to Niger Tornadoes of Minna while Sunshine Stars of Akure at their adopted Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu-Ode thrashed the visiting Bayelsa United 3-0 for the maximum three points 

Kano Pillars recorded similar margin against the visiting debutants Ikorodu City from Lagos, to secure the maximum points, just as Plateau United in Jos Township Stadium edged past Katsina United by a lone-goal 

Both Bendel Insurance and visiting Rivers United of Port Harcourt settled for goalless draw in Benin-city just as Nasarawa United of Lafia and Shooting Stars of Ibadan ended their encounter in all-one draw 

Defending champions, Enugu Rangers and returnees, El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri also ended the opening match of the season in goal less as both sides shared the available points 

The match between Lobi Stars of Makurdi and Akwa United of Uyo will hold on Monday
