Defending champions, Police Machines will be battling to defend their title when they take on former champions, Customs Service Boys on Monday in the final of the 4th edition of Value Jet/Ogun SWAN Security Cup, holding on Monday, 26th of August , 2024 at the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Kuto Abeokuta, theOgun State capital
The Police Machines struggled to edged past arch-rivals and former champions, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) side 6-4 final score, after both sides had ended the regulation time in two-all draw in the semi-final played on Saturday
The Police boys converted four of the five penalty kicks while their hard-fighting opponents could only convert two to crash out of the annual football competition for security and safety agencies, being organized by the Ogun State chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria
The Customs Service side also dismissed debutants Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) 2-0 in the other semi-final match played on the same day, to keep a date for a repeat of the 2022 edition when the Customs boys won against the Police Machines
Both NSCDC and EFCC teams will be battling for consolatory prize in the third placed match, preceding the final match of the competition same day
