Baale of Kuto community in Abeokuta, Alhaji (Chief) Muftau Kehinde has cried out that his son ,Fatai Kehinde, the Point of Sale (PoS) Operator who was reportedly butchered to death last week Friday by some suspected cultists in the Ogun State capital, was a complete gentleman and hardworking person contrary to the insinuation in some quarters that he was a member of one of the cult groups in the state

Jagunna of Ijemoland who was speaking with newsmen on how his son was murdered in cold blood under the flyover bridge at Kuto rounda about, revealed that one of the assailants had come to the late Fatai's shop located in Kuto area in the evening hours of the fateful day, under the pretense of being a customer who wanted to make use of PoS machine to withdraw a sum of N5,000 from bank account
The deceased according to the father , was about closing shop for financial transaction for the day and directed the assailant disguising as customer to go to another near-by PoS Operator which he ( the killer )resisted and insisted that he must be allowed to use the machine
After being turned down, the suspect returned to the shop in black jeep Lexus car, with seven other members of his gang wearing face-mask and attacked Fatai
The father who claimed he was with the late son till 6pm on the same day inside the shop before he left for Ijemo area of Abeokuta, added that the deceased on citing the killers cried for help , shouting Thief.! Thief.!! Thief.!!!, Please, help me" and ran to Kuto rounda flyover with the intention of seeking protection from security operatives but on getting there , there was nobody to rescue him from the assailants who later butchered him to death and made away with his bag containing undisclosed amount of money at the scene
The Baale narrated that his son was murdered in cold blood even after pleading with them to spare his life
He described the deceased as most trusted among his son , a workaholic who deals in buying and selling of shoes to customers and transporter in addition to being a PoS Operator to feed his wife and four children
The father stated that his son was killed by the assailants in the presence of children and wife, before they escaped from the scene at around 11 pm
"My son who was murdered in cold blood on Friday,9th of August ,2024 was never Cultist, he was a peace lover who never quarreled with his wife or anyone, who was an easy going person at his residence in Adigbe area of Abeokuta "
"So, the people should stop blackmailing the deceased by calling him a cultist or name that does not belong him.He was a gentleman who could not even hurt a fly", the Jaguna of Ijemo maintained
He disclosed that one of the suspected killers was arrested by the police at Ibara Station after the black Lexus car was seen at a carwash at Oke-Ijeun area of the city
Late Fatai Kehinde whose mother also died seven years ago,had since been buried the following day on the 10th of August, 2024, according to the Islamic rites
