Governor Dapo Abiodun has directed the Chairman of the Ogun State Civil Service Commission to refund all administrative fees currently being charged in relation to the ongoing recruitment exercise into the state's civil service.
The commission had asked each of the applicants to pay N10,000 for the purchase of the application form
But the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Tokunbo Talabi in statement announced the directive from Governor Abiodun , directing the Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission to refund the money already paid by each of the applicants, notwithstanding the fact that these are standard and historical fees that have been in place for decades.
These fees are charged by the Civil Service Commission on behalf of third-party independent examiners who administer and supervise the CBT Test and centers.
The statement noted that the State Government, has, as a gesture of good faith and in acknowledgment of the current economic situation in the country, also taken into consideration the ultimate aim of the recruitment exercise, which is to alleviate the suffering of the citizens and create employment in the state, and instructed the immediate refund of fees paid along with a waiver for any new applications.
The State Government had during the week announced vacancies for qualified graduates for positions of Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers as well as medical personnel and other categories of workers into the State Civil Service
