Use Your Knowledge To Bring About Meaningful Change In Society-VC Charges Fresh Babcock University's 160 Ph.D Holders




President/Vice-Chancellor of Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo in Ogun State, Prof. Ademola Tayo has charged 160 new holders of doctorate degrees to use  knowledge acquired to positively impact society 

The Vice-Chancellor of Nigeria's foremost private university who was speaking at the 13th hooding of the university held inside its Amphitheatre, stressed that their Ph.D certificates would only be useful if they applied knowledge acquired to bring about meaningful change in their immediate society and the country at large 

"Your certificate is valuable only to the extent that you apply your knowledge to bring about meaningful change", he stressed 


"Teamwork is essential to making a lasting impact in your profession", he stated 

He emphasized the importance of continuous learning, urging the doctoral graduates to continue learning and researching to make the society better for living 
"Earning a Ph.D is not the end of your academic journey, it's the beginning of a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and discovery. You have the potential to be game changers in your fields ", he charged 

Also speaking, Senior Vice -President Academic, Prof. Philemon Amanze and Associate Vice-President , Prof.Constance Nwosu encouraged the doctoral graduates to uphold the honour symbolized by their robes , sharing the purpose, history and significance of the hooding ceremony 

Vice-President of the postgraduate Coral Graduating Class, Dr Chidinma Abaribe reflecting on the graduates academic journey, recalled the challenges, setbacks, and self-doubt as well as growth , discovery and triumphs 


"We've been transformed by our experiences and we are ready to make a positive impact", he assured 

Information Resources Management Department produced the highest number of 23 doctoral graduates, closely followed by Accounting which had 21 graduates, while Business Administration and Economics had 18 and 15 respectively 


The university's, Pro-Chancellor , Pastor(Dr ) Istifanus Ishaya and other members of Babcock University community, relatives and friends attended the historic event
