Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS) has identified innovative approach in managing affairs of tax collection, adequate checks and balances, as well as proper tax education and public enlightenment for the people, as ways of ensuring effective remittance of revenue into government's coffer
Executive Chairman of the agency, Mr. Olugbenga Olaleye stated this during the ongoing 2024 Mid-Year Performance Review and Strategy virtual session of the agency.
Olaleye explained that the review would enable the agency to identify strengths, weakness, and deliberate on solutions, in order to generate more resources into the government purse.
He commended the Zonal Officers, Tax Office Managers and others for their hard work and diligence, urging them to be productive in every task assigned to them.
Also speaking, Special Adviser to Governor on Revenue, Mr. Jide Sanwo admonished the Tax Officers to continue to exhibit a spirit of oneness and remain focused.
In his remarks, Director of Corporate Development, Mr. Taiwo Ogundimu acknowledged the team's hard work and dedication at ensuring compliance in revenue collection, advising them to build on the OGIRS' existing success in tax collection.
The meeting had in attendance, Directors, Zonal Controllers, Unit Heads and Tax Office Managers, among others
