2024 UTME: UNILORIN, LASU Emerge As Top Two Varsities With Most Applications For Admission In Nigeria





University of Ilorin in Kwara State and Lagos State University Ojo have emerged as the two most sought after tertiary institutions in Nigeria by candidates seeking admission for the 2024/2025 academic session 

According to statistics of applicants released recently by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board following the announcement of the cut-off marks of 140 for 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UNILORIN came first with 
64,143 candidates, closely followed by LASU with 62, 601 candidates as the second most subscribed university in the country for the coming academic session 

LASU's latest position is an improvement on the 2023 statistics where the university was ranked third with over 55,000 applicants. It is imperative to note that prior to the year 2023, LASU had never featured in the list of the top 10 most subscribed universities in Nigeria.

LASU's rise as the second most subscribed university in Nigeria is a testament to its commitment to providing high-quality education and preparing students for success in a competitive global market. With the development, LASU is now the most subscribed State-owned university in the country 

Vice Chancellor of the university,Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello responding to the development,congratulated the entire university on the feat.
