Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has lauded the last Friday's judgement of the Supreme Court which affirmed the re-election of Governor Dapo Abiodun in the March 18, 2023 poll and dismissed the appeal of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Hon. Ladipo Adebutu
State Chairman of NLC, Comrade Hameed- Benco Ademola in a statement made available to Edu-Biznews on Sunday, described the verdict of the apex court as a reflection of divined mandate of God given to the governor to complete his administration good work started since 2019 till date including infrastructural development and various initiatives aimed at clearing inherited backlog of unremitted global deductions from workers'salaries, outstanding leave bonuses and other entitlements
"The judgement is a testament to the good work of His Excellency and the leadership of state council of NLC prayed that your second tenure will usher a lot of development to the State and equally bring more succor to the entire workforce of Gateway State," he stated
Benco-Ademola in the statement tasked the governor to now concentrate on how to ensure sustenance of his government's labour friendly policies by intensifying more effort to settle all the outstanding unremitted deductions and leave bonuses amongst other allowances
The State NLC Chairman assured Abiodun's administration of continuous industrial harmony in the state as government continues to redeem pledges to workers on its payroll in line with agreement reached with organized labour in the state
