Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola popularly known as Yayi has given scholarship and bursary awards to 1,532 students who are indigenes of Ogun West Senatorial District in various tertiary institutions across Nigeria, just as he promised to sustain his financial support for infrastructural development of various public schools including institutions of higher learning within Awori- Yewa axis of Ogun State

Adeola described the awards as part of his fulfilment of the 2023 electoral promises to support education of the youths in the Senatorial District and compliment the efforts of the Governor Dapo Abiodun led administration in the upliftment of standard of education in the state
"My joy is given additional impetus as this programme of assisting our students with scholarship and bursary awards is part of the fulfilment of my electoral promises to the youths of this senatorial district and to complement the laudable educational initiatives of our governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON particularly in the area of provision of educational infrastructure across the three senatorial districts of the state"
"Today a total number of 532 students spread across universities, polytechnics and colleges of education in different parts of the nation are to be awarded scholarships to the tune of 200,000 naira for university scholars , 180,000 naira for Polytechnics and 150, 000 naira for Colleges of Education upon successful verification of their academic records in line with the set out criteria and guidelines. I have also included a Bursary Award of 100,000 naira for 1000 students of the Senatorial district distributed to all the 5 local governments at 200 per local government", he disclosed

"This programme is basically meant to come to the rescue of our brilliant students facing some financial challenges in the course of their studies. I am facilitating this scheme in conjunction with Teacher’s Registration Council of Nigeria and the Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR"
"Permit me to emphasize that the funds provided should be spent on payment of your school fees and not free money to buy phones, bags, and clothes . The whole idea was to assist your parents and to ensure that no brilliant student of Ogun West extraction drops out of school as a result of non-payment of school fees. I believe strongly that with this token, there will be some succour to alleviate the problems that could arise as a result of a recent increase in school fees across the nation", he stressed
He explained that his passion for the support was based on his firmed belief in the powerful role of good education in liberating the youths and prepare them for a better future, assuring the people of more interventions in the education sector
"My motivation for this financial empowerment for the education sector is based on a vision that acknowledges the liberating role of good education in any kind of development"
"Without proper education, I doubt if I will be able to attain the height of being a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and embarking on this initiative. So, beyond the scholarship and bursary award programme, I have also facilitated many educational related infrastructures for my senatorial district in less that one year as a senator of Ogun West. I am sure this will go a long way to complement what our governor, Prince Abiodun CON has done"
"These include 13 newly constructed Blocks of 12 Class rooms with staff rooms, library and Solarized boreholes across the 5 LGAs of Ogun West senatorial district. This has added an additional 156 classrooms and 13 Staff rooms to decongest the learning environment of our pupils, students and teachers. Equally 3 Information, Communication Technology(ICT) Centers has been facilitated as well as provision of school furniture for 25 primary, secondary, and post-secondary schools in the district. The details of these interventions in terms of locations and beneficiary institutions will form part of my report in the First Town Hall Meeting and Empowerment programme the day after tomorrow"
