Ogun Govt Releases Employment Letters To 1,000 OgunTEACH Interns

Governor Dapo Abiodun has approved the release of appointment letters to Ogun Teaching Experience Acquisition Channel (OgunTEACh) Interns for permanent appointments into the State Teaching Service 

Governor Abiodun during the presentation of letters to the newly recruited employees, said that successful applicants were chosen based on their resilience, diligence, commitment and doggedness during the period of their Internship, saying the giant step was part of his administration's effort to further improve the education sector in the state.

Abiodun who was represented by

the State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, hinted that the employment was to ensure that adequate teachers were injected into the system to reduce overloading on already existing teachers

in public primary and secondary schools, saying they were also to make good replacement to those who have retired and others who had left the country.

He  congratulated the newly employed, charging them to continue to maintain integrity, diligence and commitment to take teaching and learning to high pedestal.

"Our Governor meant well when he declared emergency in the education sector. Part of his concern was how to ensure better welfare for teachers, including prompt payment of salaries, create a conducive teaching and learning environment, as well as injecting enough teachers into the school system to jack up the standard", Arigbabu stated 

Also speaking Chairman of the State Teaching Service Commission, Evang. Olalekan Ifede, revealed to newsmen that 600 of the newly recruited teachers would be deployed  to both public Junior and Senior Secondary Schools across the state, out of the 1,000 approved by the governor

He noted that the initiative would go a long way to further improve the standard of education in the state.

Similarly, the Chairman, Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Femi Majekodunmi, confirmed the appointment of 300 employees for public primary schools, to reinforce teaching and to fill the vacuum in the sub-sector.

Contributing, the Executive Secretary, Ogun State Technical Education Board, Mr. Olubori Akinleye, stated that the recruitment was apt at this time that government was planning to reposition technical education in the state.

Appreciating the government for the gesture on behalf of other Interns, Mr. Mathew Akinde, Miss Kadijat Adepoju and Mr. Olatunji Ariyo, expressed gratitude, pledging continuous support towards realising governmental policies in education.

Edu-Biznews recalled that Governor Abiodun during the 2023 Teacher's Day celebration on October 5 announced the approval of the recruitment of  1,000 Ogun TEACh interns into the public service and engagement of another set of 2,000 interns into the teaching scheme
