Ogun State Government's Ministry of Housing in conjunction with its State Housing Corporation is set to provide 150 units of smart and affordable housing at Lagos Abeokuta Road, Idi-ori, Abeokuta, within 18 months.
The State Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi stated this during an inspection tour of the proposed site, saying the land has been in existence for over 40years, and it is imperative for the government to ensure smart city estate is provided for the benefit of all and sundry.
He said as a magnanimous government, it would do everything possible to accommodate those who had encroached on the plots of land, adding that as a response to the yearnings of the people, the two-bedroom design units would be constructed based on request.
‘’About 2,500 housing units have been achieved so far, and the present administration would continue to provide and focus more on affordable housing units, and collaborate with CDAs to ensure that the communities have robust and better environments in the near future’’, he submitted.
