Management and Academic Board of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta (MAPOLY) have announced temporary suspension of academic activities for a week, following the crisis confronting the Ogun State Government owned institution including the issues of the unpaid salaries to workers and protest by students over alleged hike in the acceptance fee payable by new intakes put at N50,000 from the initial N35,000
Registrar of the Polytechnic, Mrs O.O Elewodalu announced the suspension in a circular dated 8th of October, 2023 addressed to all students, of which a copy was obtained by Edu-Biznews on Monday
According to the circular, "the suspension of academic activities will be effective from Monday 9th of October to Friday 13th of October, 2023" .
The institution in the circular asked all students to stay off the campus until otherwise directed
"The temporary suspension of academic activities is a result of the need to address the prevailing circumstances in the polytechnic", the circular stated
