Authorities of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta have joined other prominent Nigerians including President Bola Almed Tinubu, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State to express deep condolences upon the death of the immediate past Chairman, of the Governing Council of the Polytechnic, Chief Mrs Alaba Lawson.
Rector of the institution, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji reacting to the shocking news in a statement by its Head, Public Relations and Protocol , Yemi Ajibola, ascribed Iyalode's demise at age 72 to the will of God, but a great loss to the generation.
He noted her numerous impacts on the development of the Polytechnic not only as the Governing Council Chairman but also as a great personality of the State.
Iyalode Alaba Lawson saddled the affairs of MAPOLY from December 2013 to December 2016 with many laudable and indelible developmental projects.
She was well known as an educationist, philanthropist, disciplinarian and a role model to great minds globally.
Odedeji prayed, on behalf of the Governing Council, Staff and Students of the Polytechnic that God will give her family, loved ones and people of the State the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Earlier Governor Dapo Abiodun had assured the Lawson family of the readiness to Ogun State Government to be part of final burial arrangements for the Late Iyalode of Yoruba land
