Gov Abiodun Unveils Plan For Launching Of CNG Buses On Monday In Ogun

Governor Dapo Abiodun has unfolded his administration plan to formally launch its Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) mass transit buses in Ogun State on Monday, 30th of October, 2023   

Edu-Biznews had before the announcement spotted number of CNG Powered Buses stationed at the State Government Secretariat in Oke-Mosan Abeokuta, in readiness for the formal launching of the mass transit project 

Governor Abiodun announced the plan on Saturday while speaking at the 2023 “Odun Omo Owu’’ celebration themed, “A New Dawn, at the Oba Adeleye Park, Sokori, Abeokuta North Local Government Area of the state. 

He added that the conversion of the mass transit buses to CNG, was part of the palliatives measure taken to reduce the current hardship being experienced by residents arising from removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government of Nigeria 

According to the governor, the Ogun State government was the first in the country to record the feat of launching CNG-powered buses for mass transit purposes.  

On the detoriating condition of Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta Road, the governor assured that the Ogun State Government would soon concluded plan for the reconstruction of the road as agreed with the Federal Government 

According to Abiodun, construction of the expressway will begin soon, and will put an end to the harrowing experience motorists face when plying the expressway.   

He also stated that his administration had taken steps to increase investments in the state and put an end to bureaucratic bottlenecks. 

Furthermore, Abiodun disclosed that the government had invested heavily in security to make the state conducive for investment to thrive.
