Gov Abiodun Assures Youths In Ogun of Gainful Employment Through Digital Education

   

              

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has assured youths and next generation of commitment of his administration to fully maximize opportunities in digital education and entrepreneurship to adequately provide them with gainful employment 

              

Prince Abiodun gave the assurance  during the grand launch of the "DEFINED INITIATIVE" of the Odu'a Investment Group through it's Odu'a Investment Foundation held at the Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.     

                  

Governor Abiodun who was represented by the Secretary to Ogun State Government,.Mr Tokunbo Talabi, said the conviction spurred his administration from its outset to initiate the Ogun Tech Hub, an open living lab and pre-incubation space designed to ignite creative and innovative social tech ventures, create opportunities, up-skill and expand the job space for the teeming youths who have innovative talents.

                  

He pointed out that his administration is redefining the educational system in the state in a total departure from the past through digital education that now berths the Education Management Information System (EMIS) for data gathering, analysis and presentation coupled with the introduction of the Learner Identification Number (LIN) to all schools.

                 

 He noted that while the State remains first in so many human endeavour including producing the first professor of Medicine, chartered Accountant, Chief Justice of Nigeria and pace setters in many other human endeavour

‘’We're not also unaware of the defective use of the internet by our youth population’’. 

The reason government have made huge investment in digital entrepreneurship by deploying digital technology to create jobs, businesses drive growth and promote innovation among the youths.

                

He commended the Chairman, Advisory Council of the Foundation and the management of the Odu'a Investment Limited for their relentless efforts in preserving the cherished legacies of the group and for initiating an array of programmes that continue to help governments and policy architects in the South West Zone and Nigeria at large.

                  

Also speaking , the Group Chairman, of Odua Investment Company Limited, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, explained that the Odua Investment Foundation's educational intervention project tagged "Digital Education for Innovation And Economic Development (DEFINED), was aimed at expanding educational opportunities and promote youth development and Information Technology in Southwest Nigeria.

                  

Ashiru informed that the project is an ambitious campaign that will take digital education and opportunities to all the 137 Local Government Areas in Southwest states.
