Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State
has announced the establishment of new additional ministries including Ministries of Mineral Resources, Information Communication Technology (ICT), Digital Economy, Youths and that of Energy
Governor Abiodun who made this known during a meeting with Permanent Secretaries held at the Executive Chambers of the Governor's office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, also disclosed that the intended Ministry of Youths would be carved out from the Ministry of Sports in preparation for the setting up of the Ogun State Sports Commission.
He said it was important for the state to have the ministries established, noting that their establishment would avail his administration the opportunity to focus more on the development of those critical areas.
" I had also mentioned in the course of the swearing-in of the commissioners that we are establishing new ministries".
" We are also considering setting up the Ministry of Energy, the reason for this is that those areas are now going to be areas of focus for us, and we believe that for us to achieve the objectives that we are setting forth in those areas, it is important for them to become full-fledged ministries and have all the required administrative support that will allow them to achieve their objectives", he said.
Governor Abiodun commended the Permanent Secretaries and Civil Servants for their prayers and support, especially after the Tribunal judgment that went in his favour, saying, there must be cooperation between the public servants and the political appointees, as the goal aimed to achieve is the overall welfare and wellbeing of the administration and the people of the state.
He added that civil servants and political appointees must not see themselves as competitors, but rather see themselves as team members complementing each other.
