YabaTech Inaugurates 15-Member Advisory Committee To Produce High Quality Graduates






Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, Nigeria's premier tertiary institution inaugurated a15-member Industry Advisory Committee, with the aim of producing well trained  graduates to meet the country's industrial needs  

The 15-man committee, chaired by Engr. Olajide Faheed, marks a significant milestone in the college's commitment to fostering excellence in technology education and bridging the gap between the town and the gown.

Rector of the institution , Dr. Ibraheem Abdul inaugurating the college Industry Advisory Committee for ICT Skills, expressed commitment of YabaTech to producing academic proficient graduates who are well-equipped to meet the nation's industrial needs 


"The world we live in today is heavily influenced by information and communication technology. It permeates every aspect of our lives, from education and healthcare to business and entertainment" 

"Recognizing the importance of staying at the forefront of technological advancements, Yaba College of Technology is dedicated to producing graduates who are not only academically proficient but also well-equipped to meet the demands of the ever-evolving tech  industry”, the Rector stated 

 The Industry Advisory Committee for ICT Skills according to him, brings together a distinguished group of industry leaders, experts, and educators that will serve as a bridge between the institution and the dynamic tech sector 


Dr Abdul added that the primary goal of the Committee is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and best practices between Yaba College of Technology and the tech industry. 

"With the guidance of these industry leaders, the college aims to create a learning environment that fosters innovation, entrepreneurship, and the development of cutting-edge skills’, he explained 

Abdul also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the members of the committee for their willingness to contribute their time, expertise, and insights. 


"Your involvement reflects your commitment to the future of Yaba College of Technology's students and the growth of Nigeria's technology ecosystem."


 He acknowledged the hard work of the dedicated faculty and staff who have been instrumental in bringing this committee to fruition and embarking on a journey to empower the students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the digital era.


"As the Industry Advisory Committee for ICT Skills is being  inaugurated, there is a sense of optimism and determination in the air as the collaboration between Yaba College of Technology and industry leaders will shape the future of technology education and contribute to the development and progress of Nigeria's technology landscape", he stated 

Other Committee members include; Engr. Adebari, Mr. Alade Amos, Engr. Otapo, Mrs Bello, Dr. Rufai, Engr. Saliu, representing Yabatech; Comrade Onadeko and Engr Shogeyinbo, both representing COMTEAN, Dr. John Onyebuchi representing the National Board for Technical Education; Engr Ottun representing Meaconsat Limited, Dr Nolas- Alausa representing the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Dr, Ade-Onajobi representing the Manufactures Association of Nigeria.
