TMC Begins Celebration Of 30th Anniversary in Ogun State

The Muslim Congress (TMC) is set to hold a week long of activities to mark its  30th-anniversary celebration in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, begining from this Tuesday, 26th of September, 2023

Dr. Jamiu Rowaiye and  the Waali (Head) of The Muslim Congress (TMC) in Ogun State, Dr Abdulrazaq Ogunmoye who unfolded the activities for the celebration in a joint statement made available to Edu-Biznews on Monday, said that the festivities would commence on Tuesday, September 26th, 2023, with a series of visits to the organization's patrons and distinguished personalities across the state.

The celebration continues on Wednesday, September 27th, 2023, with a heartfelt humanitarian visit to local Orphanage Homes and Correctional Centers, including the Nigeria Correctional Center of Borstal Center and Stella Obasanjo Children’s Home in Ibara Abeokuta. These visits will take place from 10 am to 4 pm.

On Thursday, September 28th, 2023, the TMC in Ogun State will engage in vital public enlightenment activities on the subjects of substance abuse and human trafficking. This collaborative effort with the National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) will unfold at Adeoye Lambo Memorial School and Nawairudeen High School in Abeokuta, starting at 10 am.

The week-long festivities continue on Friday, September 29th, 2023, with extensive media appearances on various media outlets, culminating in a special Jumat service at Egba Central Mosque, Kobiti Abeokuta, and other central mosques across the State at 1 pm.

This will be followed by a community mosque cleaning initiative on Saturday, September 30th, 2023, spanning across the Local Government Areas of the State. On Sunday, October 1st, 2023, an invigorating "Walk For Life" event will take place, starting from Biobaku Central Mosque and progressing through Lafenwa – Sapon – Isale-Igbein – Ibara Round About – Ita Eko to Ori Omi Sokori. In the evening of the same day (October 1st, 2023), an exciting final football match, known as the "Waali Cup," will be held at the Mudashiru Lawal Stadium, Asero Abeokuta.

The week-long anniversary celebration of Ogun State TMC will culminate with the 16th Annual State Lecture, commemorating Nigeria's Independence anniversary. This event will take place at the Hubert Ogunde Hall of the June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, starting at 10 am. Notable speakers, including Sheikh Imran Eleha and Sheikh Dhikirullahi Shafii, will deliver lectures; as the Chief Imam of Egbaland, Sheikh Saadatullaah Bamgbola will be the spiritual father of the day and Olowu of Owu kingdom, Professor Saka Matemilola as the royal father of the day. 

The chairman of the occasion is Engineer Abdhammed Omotayo, founder of Ar-Rahmah Zakaat foundation.

The event according to the organizers, will feature a Quran competition, award presentations, and the distribution of prizes and gifts.

Leading up to this series of exciting events, Ogun State TMC has already organized free medical services, special spiritual lectures, and community service initiatives in Ogere, Ikenne Local Government Area of the State.
