Value Jet, a foremost multi-national airline company in Nigeria, has become the official title sponsor of the Security Cup of the Sport Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ogun State chapter.
The SWAN Security Cup is a football competition among security and safety agencies in the state.
The association had earlier sought for Value Jet sponsorship for 3rd Ogun Security Cup during a courtesy call to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the airline company, Chief Kunle Soname.
Soname, has however, announced his company's resolve to sponsor the football competition.
ValueJet’s coming into football tourney has added tremendous support to sustain the annual football fiesta for security operatives in Ogun state.
The Value Jet/SWAN Security Cup which is in its third edition, has continued to receive recognition from top security agencies including the Nigerian Army, Department of State Security Service (DSS), and the Nigeria Police, and is sanctioned by the Ogun State Football Association.
About 140 players from 12 security and safety agencies will jostle for the biggest cash prize.
The SWAN Chairman in Ogun State, Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji in his response, appreciated the numerous contributions of the sponsor, especially the CEO, Otunba Adekunle Oluwaseyi Soname.
Ogunsiji in a statement by SWAN State Secretary,Olusegun Folarin, noted that, without his timely backing, the competition may not have been able to achieve the level of success it intended to witness this year.
