Ogun HoS Charges Workers On Productivity, Efficiency In Public Service




Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun has  stressed the need for Public Servants  to be more productive, so to boost  efficiency and effectiveness in public service inline with its goals and objectives 

The Head of Service gave the charge  in Abeokuta, while declaring open a 2-day workshop themed: "Sustaining the Growth Agenda in Ogun State through Resource Optimisation and Human Capital Development", organised by the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN), Ogun State Branch in conjunction with the State Government.

Fagbohun pointed out that regular capacity building for workers was a major requisite needed to broaden their knowledge and skills in discharging their duties as expected

He explained that  the training was intended to equip participants on human resource management and how to utilise such skills in achieving set objectives in their various leadership positions in the State Public Service.

"Ogun State is renowned for its robust partnership and synergy with strategic partners, which informed the engagement of the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria, Ogun State Branch to mount this Management and Leadership training for the Ogun State Public Service management staff in a bid to further enhance professionalism in service delivery to the people of the State", he stated 

The Head of Service appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun, for his unrelenting dedication and support for the development of Public Servants, urging the participants to make optimal use of the training to learn, unlearn and relearn, while also building a healthy network that would further rub off positively on their service delivery for sustaining the growth agenda of the State Government as spelt out in its ‘ISEYA’ mantra.

In her welcome address, the Chairman of the APBN in the State, Mrs. Gladys Odugbemi said Ogun State was known for its rich history and diverse economic activities which require good professional and managerial skills to maximise their potential for the benefit of the State and its people

He added that the training would offer opportunities for the participants to hone their skills as it would equally address critical areas of leadership and management skills.

In their separate goodwill messages, a retired Director of Pharmacy, Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Pharm. (Dr.) Taiwo Ajayi and Mr. Bimbo Alagbe implored the participants to seize the opportunity to further make the State great, as the training is meant for those who are concerned about the progress and growth of the State.

Two of the participants, Mr. Abiodun Oladunjoye and TPL. Afolake Okuneye said the training would further enhance their professionalism in the discharge of their managerial and professional duties in the Public Service.
