Experts in the built environment within and outside Nigeria will converged on the ancient city of Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital for a two-day international conference holding between September 28 and 29, to address challenges in the housing sector and proffer practical solutions to the problems
Chairman, Conference Planning Committee of the event being organized by the School of Environmental Studies, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Architect. Olabisi Baiyewu at a news briefing heralding the event on Wednesday, explained that the conference which has its theme "Sustainable Built Environment and Innovative Development In The 21st Century" will be having participants presenting papers on practical solutions to some of the identified problems in the housing sector
He added that scholars and experts in built environment sector would be presenting papers on "Innovative Planning Design Production and Maintenance of Sustainable Built Environment", Administration and Management of Innovative Sustainable Built Environment as well as Factors Influencing Innovative Sustainable Development of the Built Environment
Scholars according to him, will also be presenting papers on"History, Trend and New Directions for Innovations in Sustainable Development, "Multi-Dimensional Impacts of Innovations in the Sustainable Development of the Built Environment, "Applications and Contributions of different Disciplines and Technologies to Innovations in Sustainable Development of the Built Environment" and Sustainability Evaluation of the Built Environment"
The Conference Planning Committee Chairman revealed that Prof.Kola Akinsanmi of the School of Construction and Management of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa will be presenting keynote paper at the event while Prof. B.T Aluko of the Department of Estate Management, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife will present lead paper for the event
First Vice President of Nigeria Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), ESV. Victor Adekunle Alonge is the Chairman of the conference while Olu of Ilaro and Paramount ruler of Yewa land, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle is the Royal Father of the event
He listed the panelists to include Mr.Olalekan Sanusi of Bancor Trust, Mr.Seyi Abe of Magnartis, Sir Gbenga Badejo of Gbenga Badejo and Co and ESV Tayo Odunsi of Northcourt
Chief Host is the Rector of the polytechnic, Dr Adeoye Odedeji while host is the Director of School of Environmental Studies of MAPOLY, Dr Samson Agbato
