The Olowu of Owu, Oba(Prof) Saka Adelola Matemilola has conferred chieftaincy titles on Owu-Youths Leader, Prince Muhad Ibrahim Adetilo, former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Ogun State, Dr. Olumide Ayeni,(SAN) and three other prominent indigenes of the kingdom as part of activities marking his first anniversary coronation as the 14th Olowu of Owu-Abeokuta
Ibrahim Adetilo, a Frontline Owu-Youths Leader was conferred with the title of Akeweje of Owu-kingdom while the former Commissioner for Justice is the Olumofin of Owu-kingdom during a colourful traditional ceremony on Friday inside the Oke Ago-Owu Palace of Olowu in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital
Also conferred with the chieftaincy titles include Ismail Akanbi Muraino as Tayese of Owu-kingdom, a female entrepreneur Kehinde Adetutu Adelana as Erelu-Aje of Owu-kingdom and another top business entrepreneur who was honoured with Boba Seto of Owu-kingdom
They promised to continue to sustain the tempo of development in Owu-kingdom initiated by Oba Matemilola in the past one of ascending the throne as Olowu, particularly the ongoing projects in Owu
The new Akeweje of Owu-kingdom announced a personal donation of N300,000 while Olumofin pledged to support developmental project with N500,000
Prince Adetilo, an officer with Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and top member of Youth wing of the Royal Union of Owu-People (ROUP) described his chieftaincy title of Akeweje as call to do more by the grace of God in the areas of youth development and empowerment
The grand-finale of the first anniversary coronation of Oba Matemilola holds this Saturday, 5th of August with conferment of more chieftaincy titles on prominent indigenes for their various contributions to the development of Owu-kingdom
