Labour leaders in Ogun State have expressed their appreciation for the recently rolled out palliative measures announced by the State Government for workers on its payroll.
The leaders, comprising Chairmen of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Hammed Ademola -Benco, Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Akeem Lasisi and the Joint Public Service Negotiating Council (JNC), ComradebIsa Olude commended the State Government for the gesture and was optimistic that the measures would be implemented as stated.
Speaking with the newsmen, the labour leaders said the palliative measures, including the release of the 2021/2022 promotion letters and N10,000 across board would gladden the heart of the workers.
"This is a good one, it is a welcome idea and we are glad that we are part of the decisions", Benco-Ademola said.
Also speaking, the Chairman, TUC, Com. Akeem Lasisi lauded the Governor for yielding to the demands of labour,
“in the first instance, we thank God for having the audience of Gov. Abiodun, and with this, he has exhibited uncommon political commitment towards workers ‘yearnings in the State’’, Lasisi stated
The labour leaders also eulogised the State Governor for providing adequate welfare for the Civil Servants, downtrodden, vulnerable and pensioners in the State, and urged the government to implement the measures without any delay.
Similarly Com. Olude was full of praises for the governor for extending the palliative packages to the pensioners and less privileged in the state
"We appreciate His Excellency for also remembering the vulnerable, less privileged and the pensioners in his palliative programmes, as this will go a long way to motivate the State workers to do more in the discharge of their duties".
