Gov.. Abiodum Tasks Alumni Association On Giving Back To Alma Mata


        


Governor Dapo Abiodun Ogun State has tasked Alumni association to always give back to their Alma Mata, so as to  complement the government’s huge investment in the education sector but alasarfso encourage other students to be worthy ambassadors of the school.
          
The Governor stated this in his remarks, while commissioning a block of three classrooms renovated and equipped by 1978/83 set of African Church Grammar School, Ita-Iyalode, Owu Abeokuta, Old Students’ Association.
       
Abiodun, who was speaking  through his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, noted that a state of emergency was declared in the education sector on assumption of office, affirming that, ‘’today the sector has received a boost in all aspects’’.
      
 The Governor said his administration had constructed, renovated and equipped a lot of schools, rewarded excellent performances, while students and teachers had emerged first positions in competitions at the State and national level, noting that government would continue to invest heavily in the sector, to aid teaching and learning, as the present government was ready to partner anyone, group or association willing to support its ‘’Building our Future Together’’ agenda.

        
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye, represented by the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Mrs. Abosede Edun, said in the last four years, Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration had provided a conducive learning environment for students in the State. 
          
While commending members of the set for complementing government's efforts in the sector, she called on other sets of the school and Alumni of public schools all over the State, to emulate such a gesture by giving back to their Alma mata.

said the mission of his members was geared towards uplifting the infrastructural facilities in the school, as well as touching and shaping the lives of the existing students.
      
 Highlight of the event was a performance by the school cultural troupe.
