Babcock Begins Activities For 2023 Graduation Ceremony

Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State has begun its week long activities marking the  2023 graduation  for both undergraduate and postgraduate graduands.

Director of Communication and Marketing of the Nigeria's first generation private university, Dr. Joshua Suleiman in a statement made available to Edu-Biznews, said that the activities commenced last  Sunday July 23, 2023, with Parents Consultative Forum’s Luncheon and arrival of graduating students, while a  welcome cocktail with soft music orchestrated by military  band was held later  in the evening. 

The event continues this Monday with university's Alumni Connectivity’ which has its  theme “Igniting Connections, Fueling Success.” 

Alumni of the institution expected at the programme include Right Honourable Debo Ogundoyin, Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly; Mr. Uzonna Nwangwa, GMD/CEO, Irvin Global & Investment Group, Miss Beverly Osu, Actress, Creator OCB Skin and Dr. Soji Tayo, the national president of Babcock University Alumni.

 According to the statement, there will be  a Thanksgiving Night at the University Amphitheatre later on the same day.

On Tuesday July 25, former Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, Professor Peter Okebukola, will deliver the Convocation Lecture with the title, “From Tangible to Virtual Reality: Redefining the Nigerian University System”.

Suleiman in the statement, added that 

There would l be Postgraduate banquet and awards night at the university stadium same date 

On Wednesday, July 26, according to the statement, is set aside as “A day with the STARS.” expected to hold at the Amphitheatre by 10am, while the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony would take place at the same Amphitheatre at 10am on Thursday.  

"On Friday, July 28 the 2023 best overall graduating students in the postgraduate and undergraduate programmes will join the vice-chancellor, other principal officers of the University as well as other esteemed invited guests of the university to plant trees, followed by commissioning of projects commissioning by the management", he stated 

A Thanksgiving Sabbath /Baccalaureate and Vesper Service is expected to hold on Saturday July 29.

 The Director, Communication & Marketing

 of the university said  that the grand finale of the convocation ceremonies including  award of degrees and prizes on Sunday July 30, 2023 at the university stadium from 7am-1.30pm.
