Ogun SWAN Celebrates Hassan For Making The List Of FISU Top 12 Young Reporters For World University Games In China



 


Ogun State chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) is celebrating  its member, Mr. Hassan Abdulsalam for his landslide achievement as one of the 12 selected young sports reporters programme for the Chengdu 2021 World University Games in China holding between 28 July to 8 August, 2023.

Hassan, who works for Nairasport media platform was among the thousands of applicants who showed interest in the FISU/AIPS Young Reporters Programme Chengdu 2021.

The FISU Young Reporters Programme (YRP) in partnership with AIPS, the selected participants will help cover the competitions on all FISU platforms. Their contributions will include daily recaps, features articles, social media content, and television interviews. In return, they will acquire a broader experience and enhance their skills which should boost their beginning journalism or digital media career.

Hakeem Akintunde and Secretary, 
Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji in a statement expressed the association's joy for the feat recorded with the selection of one of its vibrant members

The statement reads in parts:
"SWAN, as an association, is proud of this achievement, because our prompt reaction and mutual communication to the organizers of the programme in Chengdu, China was helpful for this feat".

"As part of the current executives capacity-building programme initiative, SWAN will continue to motivate and encourage its members to fully explore opportunities for sports writers to excel in their chosen careers"

"We urge the beneficiary of this training to remain focus and dedicated in his pursuit of a brighter future in sports journalism and be a good Ambassador of Ogun SWAN and Nigeria in general during this period of the training", the statement concluded.
