Ogun State Government has promised to strengthen its collaboration with the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), to further have well-grounded individuals in vocational skills who would be self-reliant and self-dependent, so as to create more job opportunities that would enable teeming youths to be gainfully employed
Special Adviser to the Governor on Technical and Vocational Education, Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa made the promise while playing host to the delegates of NDE, in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the state capital
Odemuyiwa pointed out that the partnership was to ensure reduction in the rate of unemployment in the State, saying Ogun was becoming populated, hence the need for more effort towards labour demand and vocational skills.
According to him," our youths are not gainfully employed, and when our youths are not employed, the future is not secured, so we have to synergise with relevant agencies to make more impact into the lives of many youths".
Earlier in his submission, the State Coordinator, NDE, Mr. Bolaji Akinsanya, lauded the present government for their relentless effort towards enhancing technical education and vocational skills, noting that the agency had created 6,000 job opportunities for the youths and women in the State.
