More pensioners on both the payroll of the Ogun State Government and the 20 Local Governments across the State will be paid their gratuities , following the fresh disbursement of another quarterly N600 million approved by Governor Dapo Abiodun to settle part of the inherited gratuities to the retirees
The Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Local Government Pensions, Mrs. Olubukola Adeniregun, disclosed this during an interview in Abeokuta, saying the State government was committed to ensuring that the lives of the senior citizens were adequately protected and catered for, especially with the disbursement of their entitlements.
Adeniregun stated that Governor Abiodun was passionate and highly concerned about the welfare and wellbeing of the pensioners, noting that the governor would regularly disburse the gratuities in line with his promise.
Some of the beneficiaries in their submissions commended the gesture of Prince Abiodun, describing him as a promise keeping Governor, particularly on the regular payment of their monthly pensions and disbursement of gratuities to other retirees who were yet to benefit.
