Governor Dapo Abiodun has approved the reconstitution of the
Ogun State Local Government Education Authorities in line with their enabling laws.
Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tokunbo Talabi who announced the approval in a statement issued in Abeokuta and made available to Edu-biznews on Saturday, said that the governor made appointment after due consultation with various stakeholders in the Education sector in the State
According to him, the State Universal Basic Education Board, approved the composition of the Chairmen, Secretaries, Monitoring Officers and Board Members for 19 Local Government Education Authorities in the State, except that of the board for Abeokuta South whose list of appointees is being finalised as at the time of filing this report
Talabi explained that the new boards have been appointed from a legion of qualified and competent professionals that abound in the state.
The Secretary to the State Government challenged the appointees to immediately roll up their sleeves to provide leadership for Basic Education (Primary and Secondary Schools) in the State and position them for the task of “Building Our Future Together”
He enjoined them to work assiduously to promote excellent teaching and learning in order to return people's confidence in public education in Ogun State.
All the boards are to be inaugurated by their respective local government chairmen between Monday, 6th February and Tuesday, 7th February, 2023.
