Buhari gave the assurance during his meeting in Abuja with governors on the platform of the ruling, All Progressives Congress (APC) who are disturbed over the current situation of naira swap and fuel scarcity in the country which had brought untold hardship on Nigerians
The president who equally expressed concern over the pains Nigerians are going through in their efforts to get new naira notes of N200, N500 and N1,000, said the remaining grace period by the Central Bank of Nigeria would be used to ensure that people get the new notes by 10th of February, without stress of queuing at Automated Teller Machine (ATM) of the commercial banks
The apex bank had earlier directed the commercial banks in the country, to start paying bank customers across the counter with new notes, to ease the long queue at ATM points and the stress of getting the new notes
CBN also vowed to deal with ruthlessly with any of the commercial banks' officials caught in the fraudulent practices during the ongoing naira swap
Most operators of Point of Sales (POS) are not having cash to give to their customers while the few ones still operating charge 10percent of every withdrawal
