Ogun State Government has issued a traffic advisory to motorists and other road users , following the visit of the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinibu to Abeokuta, the state capital this Wednesday at MKO Abiola international Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta.
The State Commissioner for Transportation, Engr. Gbenga Dairo who issued the advisory , said the advisory became necessary, considering the anticipated high volume of human and vehicular movement for an event of such magnitude
The Commissioner added that there would be traffic diversion and rerouting inbound and outbound the stadium axis with alternative routes and parking space mapped out and to be supervised by operatives of TRACE and FRSC.
According to him, the NNPC flyover bridge will be condone off by 9;00am and traffic diverted underpass towards the MKO Abiola International Stadium for traffic rerouting to Abiola-Way.
Dairo stated that all security and safety agencies would effectively manage and be properly positioned to reduce and avoid gridlock on all routes to the venue as well as manage crowd control to avoid traffic delays and security threat.
"Nevertheless, TRACE and FRSC operatives will be strategically detailed to man all the parking spaces within and around the stadium as well as street parking before and after the stadium premises", he said.
While pleading with members of the public and road users for their understanding and cooperation for any inconveniences this might cause, Dairo assured that the strategy put in place would minimize delay and any untoward situation.
