Students Indiscipline:Ogun Govt Orders 12 Schools To Go On Compulsory Holiday

Ogun State Government has ordered twelve(12) schools to proceed on compulsory first term holiday with effect from last Tuesday, 30th of November,2021, following the unruly conduct of their students 

The State Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Prof.Abayomi Arigbabu who issued the directive in a statement in Abeokuta, asked all the relevant stakeholders in different zones of the affected schools, to ensure Compliance

The schools include Egba High School,Asero High School, Lafenwa High School, Government Science & Technical College, Idi-Aba and  Lisabi Grammar School, Idi-Aba,all in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Others are Itori Comprehensive High Schoo, Itori, Ofada Community Comprehensive High School, Ofada, 

Egba Owode Grammar School, Owode,.Community Comprehensive High School, Ijoun ,Unity High School,Kajola Iboro, Ado-odo Ota,as well as.Eyini Comprehensive High School, Iboro and Methodist High School, Arigbajo.

The Ogun State Ministry of Education Science and Technology, has announced that some schools in the state should commence their compulsory holiday with effect from Tuesday,30th November, 2021.

Edu-Biznews recalled that indiscipline among students in public secondary schools in the state got to its height last week, when students of both Asero High School and Egba Comprehensive High School in Asero engaged in a bloody clash, during which the DPO attached to Obantoko, Abeokuta station of the Nigeria Police Force was stoned 

The ugly situation couple with other acts of indiscipline among students in some of the public schools which created tension among teachers, forced the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools ASUSS to write the State Government through the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, requesting that students on completion of first term examination should stay at home

Edu-Biznews observed that two of the affected schools, Asero High School and Egba Comprehensive High School in the Asero area of Abeokuta complied fully with the directive during the visit to the schools on Wednesday
