New Nigeria People's Party, (NNPP) has asked the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC to publicise its report on conclusion of the ongoing Investigation of alleged financial misappropriation leveled against members of the Ogun State House of Assembly
The State Chairman of the party, Comrade Olaposi Sunday Oginni made the call in a letter of request written to the Chairman of EFCC,Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa and acknowledged by the anti-graft agency on the 26th of November, 2021at its headquarters in Abuja of which a copy was obtained by EduBiznews on Monday in Abeokuta, the state capital
NNPP in the letter titled" Request For The Publication of EFCC Investigation Report On The Allegation of Corruption and Financial of Misappropriation in the Ogun State House of Assembly", urged the anti-graft agency not to succumb to pressure from those whom it claimed, are working seriously to make sure that the report on the Investigation does not see the light of the day
The party insisted that any of the lawmakers indicted in the report on completion of the Investigation, should be made to face the full wrath of the law , no matter how highly placed
The letter reads in parts below:
"As No 1 Opposition Political Party in Ogun State is hereby calling for the Publication of the Investigative Report on the Gross Corruption and Financial misappropriation including forgery of signatures that has rocked the House under the Leadership of Rt. Hon Kunle Oluomo in the last few months."
"It's on record that the team of EFCC Officers were on the investigation of financial misappropriation and forgery of signatures in the operations of Ogun State House of Assembly".
"Recognising the fact that some unscrupulous elements are trying to make sure that the reports of the Investigation of EFCC didn't see the light of the day, the Ogun State Chapter of New Nigeria People's Party is hereby calling Your attention as the Chairman of EFCC to please use Your Good Office to ensure that the Investigative Report of EFCC on OGHA is made public and any officer found culpable and indicted is made to face prosecution with immediate effect"
"Realizing the fact that One of the major reason for the establishment of EFCC is to sanitize our society most especially public institutions from Corruption and financial Crimes, it therefore become Necessary that Any Ogun State House of Assembly Member that is indicted in the ongoing probe by EFCC is made to be prosecuted no matter how highly placed".
"The New Nigeria People's Party and Entire People of Ogun State are looking forward to the Publication of the Reports of EFCC on Ogun State House of Assembly as a matter of Urgency."
