Abductors of the Greenfield University's students have released one of their abductees, hours after threatened to kill the remaining students in their captivity on Tuesday.
Laurentia Attahiru, mother of the released student confirmed to newsmen in Kaduna that her son was released but declined to give details.
The University's authorities are yet to make any comment on the development.
The bandits who had given the Kaduna State Government up till today (Tuesday) to pay N100million ransom and ten motorcycle, to spare the lives of remaining students might be responding to several plea from various groups including the Parents Teachers’ Association on Tuesday,
National President of the association, Haruna Danjuma, speaking with newsmen in Kaduna,pleaded with bandits to spare the lives of the remaining 17 students
His words,"We were shocked and unhappy with the bandits’ threat on the radio that all our remaining Greenfield University students will be killed if N100 million and ten motorcycles were not given to them (bandits) today (Tuesday)."
Edu-Biznews recalled that 23 persons including students and staff of the Kaduna based private university were abducted on April 20 by armed bandits in their school,along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.
