Resident Doctors Suspend Strike



The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has suspended its 10 days old strike which paralysed medical services at the tertiary hospitals in Nigeria      

National President of the association,Dr Uyilawa Okhuaihesuyi who announced the suspension on Saturday, explained that the decision was taken after considering their responsibility to Nigerians and the fact that the Federal government has met some of their demands.

His words "The government has met some of our demands and they have assured us that all our demands will be met"

Okhuaihesuyi added that the Federal Government after series of meetings with stakeholders, signed a Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) and agreed to implement the agreement reached within the stipulated time frame

The Resident Doctors on 2nd of April embarked on the nationwide strike to compel government to clear backlog of unpaid COVID-19 allowances and better condition  of service for members.
